Description of items available at the Puna Spring Festival on March 30, 2019 from 10:00 - 3:00

The Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will be sponsoring a “Puna Spring Festival” on our temple grounds on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  This event is open to the public and we invite everyone to attend this fun filled event.  The temple address is 16-492 Old Volcano Road, Keaau, HI 96749.

The festival will feature many different activities for all:

Kids Activities:  5 in 1 Sport Combo Castle Inflatable; games by Hilo Hongwanji Preschool; make it and take it; face painting; the Keaau Elementary School Robotics team will be available for demonstrations and hand on activities; many more;

Craft fair with a variety of vendors;

Variety of food and baked goods by our Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple groups:  please help our temple groups like the Buddhist Women Association; Puna Taiko; Puna Judo; Puna Scouts; Puna Choir; Puna Sr. YBA; and our Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple Kyodan;

Puna Hongwanji Boutique:  New and slightly used items;

Prize Giveaways:  please make sure to fill out an entry form that will be available at the festival so that you can be entered to win prizes donated by our generous donors.  Must be present to win.  Also watch our Facebook and Instagram pages as we will be having prize giveaways.  Winners from the Facebook/Instagram giveaways can pick up their prizes on the day of the festival;

Temple Tours:  Take a tour of the temple which will be led by Rev. Satoshi “Ka‘imipono” Tomioka.  Tour times are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.; 12:00 noon; 1:00 p.m.; and 2:00 p.m.;

1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Puna Taiko
1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The New Dharma Band
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Matsuri Dance led by the Odorikai group.
