PlBuddshim in my daily life - August 10, 2019ease join us on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.  Rev. Alan Urasaki will lead the Buddhism class:  “Buddhism in my daily life”.  Rev. Urasaki was born and raised in Hilo.  After earning his degree at the University of Hawaii Manoa he pursued ministry and went to Berkeley, California to attend the Institute of Buddhist Studies.  He was assigned as an Associate Minister at Hawaii Betsuin and later assigned as the Resident Minister of Aiea Hongwanji.

Rev. Urasaki left temple ministry to accept a chaplain position with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.  He was the first Buddhist chaplain in the Federal Prison system.
