Easter Drive-By – Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Easter Drive-By:
The Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will be hosting an Easter Drive-By on Sunday April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. We will have a treat bag ready for the children to be handed out by our Easter Bunny. Some of the goodie bags will contain a “golden egg” and in the bag there will be an extra surprise. When attending the drive-by everyone in the car must wear a mask, everyone should remain in the car, and no parking allowed. During the event Puna Taiko will be playing as you drive-by. Goodie bags will be while supplies last.
Virtual Egg Hunt:
The Easter Bunny needs your help in finding all of the eggs that were dropped off at Puna Hongwanji Mission on the front lawn of the temple and in the front of the columbarium. The Easter Bunny would be so happy to receive your help in locating all of the eggs. We have loaded 360 for photos to our Facebook account. We have provided 2 views each of the front lawn of the temple and the front of the columbarium. The Easter Bunny will be anxiously waiting for you to drop off your guess on Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at our Easter Drive-By. Without going over find the eggs and the person that guess the exact or closest without going over could win one of five prizes. If there is a tie, we will be doing a random drawing for the winners.

You must list the eggs found by color and if you only guess the total number of eggs your entry will not be eligible to win a prize. You must drop off your guess in person at our drive-by to be eligible to win.

Decorating Paper Eggs:
Help us fill our Easter basket by decorating a paper egg. We have a blank template for you to use. In one word describe your wish or share one positive word to describe the community you live in. Then color and decorate your egg. On the day of the drive-by April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. drop off your finished egg. As you drop it off we will add it to our Easter basket to be displayed for everyone to see. Those who are unable to attend the event you may still participate and then send us an email with your colored egg. You may email it to mpunahongwanji@twc.com by Saturday, April 3, 2021 so that we can print it and add it to our basket.
Paper/Tissue Paper Flowers for Buddha’s Birthday:
We are collecting paper/tissue paper flowers to be used for Buddha’s Birthday. Please help us make paper/tissue paper flowers that we will be collecting on Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. When finding a flower to make, please be mindful not to make flowers that have thorns, that have a bad odor, or that are poisonous as we would not want to offer that to the Buddha. We will take your flowers and utilize it for our Walk-In Celebration of Buddha’s Birthday. On Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon we will open our temple doors. You will be able to offer incense and pour sweet tea over baby Buddha. Should you decide to come to temple, please be reminded to wear your mask, a sanitize, keep your social distance, if you are not feeling well, please stay home.
