Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, its Commission on Buddhist Education, and its Committee on Social Concerns Host LQBTQIA+ 101 at the Buddhist Study Center and Online
The Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, it’s Commission on Buddhist Education, and its Committee on Social Concerns invites you to LGBTQIA+ 101. Learn more about the LGBTQIA+ community so we can ensure all beings may enjoy lives of harmony, peace and gratitude. Event will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The session will be available in person at the Buddhist Study Center (across from the UH Manoa campus at 1436 University Avenue in Honolulu) and online via Zoom.
In additional to Camaron Miyamoto, Director of the UH Manoa LGBTQIA+ Center, the event will feature panelists composted of members and families of the LGBTQIA+ community who are also a part of the Hongwanji organization. Panelists includes: Chihiro Okawa; Jay Yokoyama; Benjamin Bruch & Rudiger, Richard and Gail Taira, and Pieper & Lois Toyama.
