Hoonko Service – “I Have a Dream” – January 17, 2021 9:00 a.m.

On Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. we will be observing one of the six major services of the year, Hoonko (Founder’s Memorial Service).  Master Shinran Shonin is the founder of our Shin Buddhism tradition.  He passed away on January 16, 1262.  “Hoon” means to “repay or return one’s gratitude” and “ko” refers to “a gathering”.  Rev. Satoshi Ka’imipono Tomioka will deliver the Dharma Message “I Have a Dream”.  The online service will be available live on our Puna Hongwanji Facebook and YouTube pages.
