Ikenobo Ikebana Flower Arrangement Class – Friday, June 9, 2023
Mrs. Junko Hagio who has over 40 years of experience with Ikenobo Ikebana will be coming to Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple on Friday, June 9, 2023 to offer two sessions. Ikenobo Ikebana continues a tradition of flower arrangement that began over 550 years ago in Japan. This is open to anyone from beginners to advanced levels. 
Session 1 – 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Traditional Style Flower Arrangement
Cost: $25 ($15 lecture fee & $10 cost of flowers)
Registration required by Sunday, June 4, 2023
Demonstration of traditional style by instructor. Participants will make their own arrangements with flowers provided. Bring a vase with kenzan (spiky flower frog) and clippers.
Session 2 – 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon
Free Style/Altar Style Flower Arrangement
Cost: $10
No registration required
Demonstration of free style or altar style by instructor. Participants will make their own arrangements. Bring a tall vase and flowers/greenery, or vase with kenzan (spiky flower frog) and flowers/greenery. Bring clippers.
